Vectorize Image for Laser Cutting
Convert any image to a laser-cutter-ready SVG. Clean vector paths ready for LightBurn, RDWorks, xTool, and all major laser cutter control software.
About Vectorize image for laser cutting
Laser cutters use vector SVG paths to define cutting trajectories. The laser head follows the path exactly — cutting through material on vector cut paths, engraving surface detail on vector fill paths. Images (PNG, JPG) must be vectorized to use them as laser cut designs.
Vectorizing produces the vector paths the laser needs. For cut operations: the SVG outline paths become the cut lines. For engrave operations: the filled areas in the SVG become engrave regions. Organize cut and engrave paths in separate SVG layers (using different colors or groups) for easy assignment in your laser software.
LightBurn users: import SVG directly via File > Import. SVG layers and colors map to LightBurn's layer system. Assign each layer to a cut or engrave operation, set power and speed parameters, and send to the laser.
Material-specific preparation: for wood engraving, high-contrast SVG fills with clean edges produce the sharpest burn quality. For acrylic cutting, clean single-line outlines with no fill produce accurate, smooth cuts. This tool produces clean, properly-structured SVGs compatible with all major laser software platforms.
