EPS (Encapsulated PostScript) is the standard vector format for professional print production, die-cutting, engraving, and legacy design software. HEIC is Apple's compressed photo format used on iPhone and iPad since iOS 11. Converting HEIC directly to EPS requires two steps: decode the HEIC to a raster image, then vectorize that raster into paths that can be saved as EPS.
From there, open the SVG in Illustrator (File > Save As > EPS) or Inkscape (File > Save a Copy > Encapsulated PostScript) to produce the final EPS file.
Photographs with complex backgrounds will produce very detailed EPS paths — for those, simplify in Illustrator before sending to a print supplier.
Common uses: sending a logo or hand-drawn artwork captured on iPhone to a sign shop, laser cutter, or embroidery digitizer that requires EPS input.
HEIC is not a direct preview input; export the source to PNG, JPEG, or WebP before upload.
After authorized SVG export, use a separate downstream tool to create EPS and inspect that file for the intended workflow.
