JPG (JPEG) is the most widely supported photo format in the world. HEIC is not a direct preview input; export the source to PNG, JPEG, or WebP before upload.
The conversion is straightforward: the HEIC image is decoded to raw pixel data and then re-encoded as JPEG. For photos, JPEG is the correct output format — for logos, artwork, or images requiring transparency or further editing, PNG is preferable.
When to convert HEIC to JPG: sharing photos with friends on Windows or Android, uploading photos to social media platforms that reject HEIC, submitting images to freelance job boards or client portals, emailing iPhone photos to colleagues using non-Apple devices.
Note: HEIC uses 10-bit colour internally. Converting to JPG reduces to 8-bit.
After authorized SVG export, use a separate downstream tool to create JPEG and inspect that file for the intended workflow.
