About How to make logo print ready

Pre-press checklist for a print-ready logo:

1. Vector format confirmed. The logo must be SVG, AI, or EPS — or a PDF exported from one of these. If the logo is only available as PNG or JPG, vectorize it using the Logo Vectorizer before proceeding. Raster logos will not produce acceptable print quality beyond their source resolution.

2. Correct colour mode. Offset and digital printing requires CMYK. Screen printing uses Pantone spot colours or CMYK process. Verify the logo fills are in the correct colour mode in the design application.

3. Fonts outlined or embedded. If the logo contains text, convert all text to outlines (Type > Create Outlines in Illustrator). This makes the text independent of any installed fonts. Alternatively, embed all fonts when exporting to PDF.

4. Bleed and safe zone defined. If the logo extends to the edge of a printed piece, add 3mm bleed. If it sits within a document, confirm all critical elements are at least 5mm inside the trim edge.

5. Exported as PDF/X. Export the final file as PDF/X-1a or PDF/X-4 from the design application. Check the PDF preflight summary for any remaining issues — missing fonts, out-of-gamut colours, or transparency that requires flattening.

After completing this checklist, the file is ready to submit to any professional print service.
