Logo for Packaging — Workflow Example
Placing a logo on product packaging requires a vector SVG source, a dieline template from the printer, and a print-ready PDF export. Here is the complete workflow.
About Logo for packaging example
Example: A user has a PNG logo and needs to prepare artwork for a 50ml cosmetics box — a folding carton with a dieline provided by the packaging printer.
Step 1 — Vectorize the logo. Upload the PNG logo to the Logo Vectorizer. Download the SVG with clean vector paths and solid colour fills.
Step 2 — Import the dieline. The packaging printer supplied an AI dieline file. Open it in Illustrator. The dieline shows: bleed (3mm around all edges), trim (the cut line), and safe zone (5mm inside the trim). Create a new artwork layer above the dieline.
Step 3 — Place the SVG logo. Drag the SVG logo into the artwork layer. Scale it to the appropriate size within the safe zone of the front panel. Add product name, size, and regulatory text in the specified font.
Step 4 — Set up colours. Convert all fills to CMYK. Match the logo colours to the Pantone equivalents in the brand guide for consistent colour across production runs.
Step 5 — Export as PDF/X-1a. Hide the dieline layer. Export the artwork as PDF/X-1a at 300 DPI with 3mm bleed and trim marks included. Send to the packaging printer for prepress approval.
Result: a press-ready packaging PDF with a scalable vector logo, CMYK colours, and correct bleed — ready for production.
