About Convert AI to PNG

Adobe Illustrator AI files contain native vector artwork but require Illustrator or compatible software to open and export. Converting an AI file to PNG renders the vector content to a raster image at your target resolution.

The primary method: open the AI file in Adobe Illustrator and export via File > Export > Export As, selecting PNG. Set the resolution to 300 DPI for print or 72–150 DPI for web use at double the display dimensions for retina screens.

If you do not have Illustrator, Inkscape (free, open-source) supports many AI files by reading the embedded PDF base format. Open the AI file in Inkscape and export as PNG from File > Export PNG Image.

Alternatively, convert the AI to a high-resolution PNG using a PostScript-compatible PDF converter, then upload the PNG to the Logo Vectorizer to produce a clean SVG. From SVG, export to PNG at any resolution without quality loss.

For AI files containing logos or icons, exporting at 2× or 4× your display size before downsampling ensures crisp rendering on high-DPI screens. Always keep the original AI file as the master source for future re-exports at different sizes.
