About Vector logo for t-shirts
T-shirt decoration methods all benefit from vector logos. Whether you're doing a single custom tee at home or a 500-piece screen printed run, starting with a clean SVG vector file makes the process smoother and the result sharper.
For screen printing (most common for bulk orders): the SVG provides clean color-separated paths for plate making. Each color in the SVG becomes a separate screen, which deposits its ink color on the garment. Screen printers work at 300dpi or finer, so the vector's infinite resolution is the correct match.
For direct-to-garment (DTG, single-piece orders): DTG printers print directly onto fabric like an inkjet. A vector SVG is the ideal source — export at the garment's print area size at 300dpi for maximum sharpness.
For heat transfer vinyl (HTV, home crafters and small runs): the SVG defines the cut path for the vinyl cutter. Cut the design from HTV, weed the excess vinyl, and heat press onto the garment. Clean, closed SVG paths are essential for accurate cutting.
