About Vector for sublimation printing

Sublimation printing offers full-colour, photo-quality decoration on polymer surfaces — mugs, phone cases, mousepads, polyester apparel, and aluminium panels. The process transfers dye ink into the substrate using heat, producing a permanent, vibrant result.

For sublimation artwork, the key requirements are: 300 DPI at the final print size, RGB colour mode (not CMYK), and a white or light-coloured substrate (sublimation inks are transparent — they do not print white).

For logos and graphics with solid colours, the recommended approach is to start with an SVG vector file and export it at exactly the print dimensions at 300 DPI. An SVG exported from Illustrator at 300 DPI to the exact size of the mug transfer area produces a pixel-perfect sublimation print.

For a standard 11oz mug, the transfer area is approximately 200×85mm. Export your SVG at those dimensions, 300 DPI, as a TIFF or PNG for upload to your sublimation RIP software.

For apparel sublimation: all-over print templates vary by garment. Download the template, place your SVG artwork within it at 300 DPI, and export as a PDF or TIFF. White is not printable — ensure any white areas in the design are intentionally left blank to show the garment colour through.
