About Logo vectorization for embroidery

Embroidery digitizing software converts vector artwork into stitch files (DST, PES, EXP). The vectorized logo provides the path data that the digitizer maps to stitch types. A clean SVG with accurate color regions and smooth paths produces the most accurate embroidered result.

What embroidery digitizers need from your SVG: clear, closed paths for each embroidered element, distinct color regions with no unintentional overlaps, simplified curves (avoid excessive anchor points), and paths sized proportionally to the final embroidered size.

For common embroidery applications — polo shirt left chest logo (3–4 inches), cap logo (2.5–3 inches), jacket back (12–14 inches) — the vectorized SVG provides the correct starting geometry. Your digitizer handles the stitch density, underlay, pull compensation, and thread color assignments.

For logos with very fine detail: embroidery has a minimum stitch width of roughly 1mm. Elements thinner than this must be simplified or enlarged. Share the intended embroidery size with your digitizer when submitting the SVG — they will flag any elements that need design adjustments for the target scale.
