Step-by-step guide to uploading an SVG to Cricut Design Space:
1. Open Cricut Design Space. Go to app.cricut.com (or the desktop app). Create a new canvas or open an existing project.
2. Click Upload. In the left toolbar, click the Upload icon (arrow pointing up). Select Upload Image.
3. Select the SVG file. Browse to the SVG file on your device. Design Space accepts SVG, DXF, PNG, JPG, BMP, GIF, and HEIF files. Select the SVG.
4. Review the upload preview. Design Space renders a preview of the SVG layers. Verify the colours and path count match the intended design. If the design appears incorrect, cancel and fix the SVG before re-uploading.
5. Save to your Upload library. Click Save. The SVG is added to your Recently Uploaded section and is available in all future projects.
6. Add to canvas. After saving, click Insert Images. Select the uploaded SVG and click Add to Canvas.
7. Arrange, resize, and assign materials. Resize the design on the mat. Assign material types to each colour layer. Use Attach to lock multi-layer designs to the same mat position.
Tips for clean SVG imports: - SVG files with more than 10 distinct colour layers may need to be simplified before upload. - Use Ungroup after insertion to access individual path layers. - Use Weld to merge overlapping paths before cutting.
