JPEG images can be converted to SVG using the same auto-trace process used for PNG files. The key difference is that JPEG uses lossy compression, which can introduce blocky artifacts at color boundaries. Uploading the highest-quality JPEG available minimizes this effect.
For logos and simple graphics in JPEG format, the conversion produces clean, accurate SVG output in most cases. The vectorizer identifies the primary color regions and reconstructs them as smooth vector paths. Minor JPEG artifacts are smoothed out during the trace.
After downloading the SVG, check the following: color accuracy (compare against the original), path smoothness (look for jagged edges on curves), and file size (the SVG should be substantially smaller than the JPEG for flat logos). If color accuracy is off, open the SVG in a vector editor and update the fill values.
