About Favicon from logo example

A favicon is the small icon displayed in browser tabs, bookmarks, and app shortcuts. It is typically 32×32px or 64×64px, which means logo design elements that look great at full size often read very poorly when reduced to 32 pixels wide.

Simple, bold logos work best for favicons. A clean monogram, a simple symbol, or the first letter of the brand name — these scale down to favicon size clearly. Complex logos with thin lines, small text, or many color regions become unreadable at favicon dimensions.

The Favicon Generator accepts PNG or SVG logo files and exports them at the correct favicon sizes. For logos that need simplification before generating the favicon, cropping to just the symbol or mark (not the full wordmark) produces a more readable result.

For SVG logos: the SVG source produces the cleanest favicon because it renders at exactly 32×32px from the vector paths — no interpolation artifacts. Upload the SVG directly and the generator optimizes the output automatically.

For PNG logos: upload a high-resolution version (at least 512×512px) so the favicon generator has enough source pixels to produce a sharp downscaled result. Low-resolution PNG sources often produce blurry favicons.
