WebP is a modern image format developed by Google, used widely by web platforms and CMSs as the default export format for optimized web images. Converting WebP to SVG is useful when you have a logo or graphic saved as WebP and need a scalable vector version.
WebP supports both lossy and lossless compression. Lossy WebP files may have some compression artifacts at color edges, but the vectorizer handles these well for logos and flat graphics.
A common scenario: a logo was exported from Figma or a CMS in WebP format, and a vector SVG is now needed for print or brand use.
WebP images with transparent backgrounds convert to SVG with the transparency information correctly interpreted. The resulting SVG reflects the original logo shape without any background fill.
