About Convert sketch to SVG

Sketch-to-SVG conversion works by tracing the lines and shapes in the sketch into mathematically defined vector paths. The quality of the SVG depends on the clarity of the sketch lines — high contrast, clean ink lines produce the best results.

From a physical sketch: 1. Scan at 600 DPI or photograph with even lighting. 2. In Photoshop or GIMP: adjust Levels to darken lines and lighten the background. Apply Threshold if going to single-color (line art) output. 3. Save as PNG. 4. Upload to the vectorizer and download SVG.

From Procreate: File > Share > SVG (if the layer has vector-compatible content) or share as PNG and vectorize. For Procreate brush strokes, the PNG + vectorize workflow often gives better results than the built-in SVG export.

From Adobe Fresco: export as PNG from the app, then vectorize. For Fresco vector layers, export directly as SVG.

For Cricut Design Space: import the SVG directly. The traced sketch lines become cut paths. Use the Contour tool to remove any unwanted interior paths from the tracing.

For tattoo reference: scale the SVG to the planned tattoo dimensions and print on trace paper for the appointment consultation.
