About Convert PDF to SVG

PDFs often contain vector artwork embedded as paths or raster images rendered at high resolution. The most reliable way to convert PDF content to SVG is a two-step process: first export the relevant page or graphic region as a high-resolution PNG, then run that PNG through a vector tracer.

This approach works well for PDF logos, diagrams, and illustrations. Open the PDF in a viewer like Adobe Reader, Chrome, or Preview, zoom to the relevant content area, and export or screenshot it at high resolution (300dpi or higher is ideal). Then upload the PNG to the converter and get a clean SVG.

For PDFs that already contain embedded vector paths (as opposed to rasterized images), the exported PNG will faithfully represent the original vector geometry and the tracer will reconstruct it accurately. The output SVG will match the original proportions and color regions.

If the PDF source is a scanned document, enhance the resolution using our Logo Upscaler before vectorizing. This sharpens edges and improves trace accuracy significantly on low-resolution scans.
