About Convert logo to vinyl cutter file

Logos destined for vinyl cutting need to be in vector format with clear, closed cut paths. A logo saved as a JPEG from a website or PNG from a presentation has no cut path data — the cutter cannot use it. Vectorizing converts the logo's outlines into the path geometry that cutting software processes.

What makes a good vinyl-cut logo: — Clean silhouette or outlined shapes with no gradients or drop shadows. — Minimum feature size of around 3–5 mm at the intended cut size. Details smaller than this are difficult to weed. — Each colour layer as a separate SVG cut file if doing multi-color vinyl work.

Loading a vectorized logo into cutting software: — Cricut Design Space: Upload > Image > select the SVG > click Cut. — Silhouette Studio: File > Import > select the SVG. The paths import as cuttable shapes. — Brother ScanNCut Canvas: Upload the SVG from the canvas application. — Roland CutStudio or Graphtec Studio: import SVG directly.

For logos with fine detail — thin letterforms, tight curves, small inline strokes — simplify the paths in Inkscape before sending to the cutter. The simpler the path, the cleaner the cut and the easier the weeding. Use the Logo Vectorizer for logos specifically — it's tuned to handle letterforms and brand mark geometry.
