About Convert logo to DXF

DXF is the standard format for CNC routing, laser cutting, plasma cutting, and sign-making software. Logos in PNG or JPEG need to be vectorized and converted to DXF before they can be used in these workflows.

The workflow: upload your logo PNG or JPEG to the Logo Vectorizer to produce a clean SVG. Then open the SVG in Inkscape and export as DXF (File > Save As > DXF). Choose R14 or R2000 format for broadest CAD and CNC software compatibility.

For sign-making and vinyl cutting, the DXF cut paths should represent the outer contour of the logo. After vectorizing, use Inkscape to simplify and clean paths, removing any unnecessary internal details the machine should not cut.

For CNC routing into wood, metal, or acrylic: the DXF paths define the tool path. Ensure paths are closed polylines and have sufficient spacing between elements for the router bit diameter. Add offsets in your CAM software for the bit radius.

For laser engraving of logos: the DXF vector lines define engraving paths. Thicker strokes in the SVG should be converted to filled regions in DXF for area fill engraving. Separate cut and engrave paths into different DXF layers labeled by operation type for easy setup in your laser software.
