Vectorize Image for Posters

Posters demand large-format print quality. Raster images pixelate when blown up to poster size — vector images do not. Vectorize your artwork or logo and get a file that prints sharply at 24×36", A1, or larger.

About Vectorize image for posters

Posters are typically printed at 18"×24" to 24"×36" (A2 to A0 in metric), at 150–300dpi resolution. A source image intended for web use at 72dpi becomes jagged and soft when printed at poster size. Vectors have no resolution limit — they render at any print resolution without quality loss.

Design elements that must be vectorized for poster printing: — Brand logos and marks. — Illustrations, badges, and icons. — Text converted to paths (outlines). — Decorative line art and borders.

Photographic elements (people, products, scenes) are kept as high-resolution rasters in poster layouts — these do not need vectorization. Only graphic elements benefit.

Poster print workflows: — Adobe Illustrator: native vector throughout. Export as print-ready PDF. — Canva: use SVG for logos; photos stay as raster within the layout. — Affinity Designer: mix SVG/vector and high-res raster layers. — Large-format print shops (FedEx Office, Staples, Printful): upload print-ready PDF with bleed.

For event posters, promotional posters, or retail display signage: ensure logos and graphic elements are vectorized before final layout export. Printers will reject artwork where branded elements are rasterized at insufficient resolution for the output size.
