SVG for Neon Sign Design

Custom LED neon signs are manufactured by bending flexible LED strip along SVG path outlines. Both domestic fabricators and overseas LED neon suppliers accept SVG files for quoting and manufacturing. The SVG path structure determines how the neon strip is routed and bent.

About SVG for neon sign design

Custom LED neon sign fabricators — both domestic workshops and overseas suppliers via AliExpress and Alibaba — use SVG files as their primary design input. The SVG stroke paths become the physical bending template for the LED flex strip.

SVG path requirements for LED neon signs: - Stroke paths only: each neon element must be a single continuous open path with a stroke colour. The fabricator bends the LED strip to follow each stroke. Use no fill shapes. - No sharp angles: LED flex neon cannot bend tighter than approximately a 30 mm radius. Avoid sharp corners; use smooth curves instead. - Minimum stroke line width: LED flex neon tubing is typically 6–10 mm wide. Design elements narrower than 6 mm are not manufacturable with standard flex neon. - Colour per layer: for multi-colour signs, assign each LED colour to a separate SVG layer or group. Fabricators route each colour segment separately. - Background shape: some neon signs use an acrylic backing panel. If a backing shape is required, include it as a separate filled path in its own layer.

How to create SVG for a neon sign: 1. Upload the logo, lettering, or design PNG to the vectorizer above. 2. Download the SVG. 3. Open in Inkscape. Switch all paths from fill to stroke-only: click fill swatch > X; add a stroke colour. 4. Check for path continuity — each LED section should be one unbroken stroke. 5. Verify no angles are tighter than 30 mm radius. 6. Export as SVG and send to the fabricator with a note of the target sign width (e.g., 600 mm wide).
